Listen to a 70-year-old woman speak — for one of the first times ever — to an audience. Project Vive, a local start-up company, creates custom speech-generation devices for people with communication-related disabilities. Arlyn, who was born with cerebral palsy and dysarthric speech, is their first device user. Come to the event to listen to Arlyn share how she has overcome challenges and found access to a device that allows her to share her passions. Mary Elizabeth, founder of Project Vive and recent Penn State biomedical engineering grad, will also share her inspiration behind the company and how she has developed it to where it is today. The rest of the time will be an interactive workshop that will invite the audience to write down challenges they face, their passions, and ideas on ways for them to pursue them. This event is open to all ages and abilities!
